A group of hoteliers launched the Sauve ton hôtel site three weeks ago in order to allow French people to book overnight stays in their establishments without going through major international platforms. Booking, Expedia and their competitors charge commissions ranging from 15 to 25% from the sums paid by customers, explains BFM TV . Despite the difficulties encountered by professionals after several months of closure and the health crisis linked to the coronavirus, the giants have not spared the sector.

# SauvetonHôtel is a french platform that connects directly #hotels 🏨 and customers to offer a service matching with the # Covid-19 sanitary measures 🧼while helping the #hotel industry to cope with the economical loss due to # Covid-19.

The managing director of the Machefert group, at the origin of the approach, believes that the profession has received a "stab in the back". Kevin Machefert regrets, for example, that booking platforms "demanded hoteliers reimbursements" when assets were possible. To encourage holidaymakers to use this new platform, participating establishments offer advantages to those who book without going through an intermediary.

350 hotels are available

Discounts, rooms of a higher category than the one reserved, activities or meals offered are thus available in the 350 hotels already on the portal. Some 1,000 additional establishments are in the process of registration. "Save your hotel" is also designed to highlight a certain type of stay. "The aim of this operation is to promote more responsible and local tourism", say the managers of the one-off program, which could eventually become permanent.

"We favor a more peaceful and less martial response", details Kevin Machefert who advocates for his sector the establishment of a "short circuit". Save your hotel "display a search engine taking into account your wishes in terms of location, type of accommodation, standing and activities available". Users receive information on the health measures implemented by the establishments offered.
