Cultural companies have been entitled to support money for financial loss during the pandemic, although the companies have previously made a profit.

On the other hand, the money is not allowed to make or pick out profits, and therefore the Swedish Cultural Council will carry out random checks on the companies that have received support, reports Swedish Radio's Culture News.

- This is an exceptional situation, a completely different support than we usually allocate, so it is an important part of following up with checks to ensure that the money is used correctly, says Director General Kajsa Ravin to Kulturnytt.

SEK 330 million has been distributed in the form of 1500 grants.
