Two environmental groups published a study on Thursday in which they denounce the composition of 71 sunscreens for children. They point the finger at endocrine disruptors, allergens, nanoparticles and substances toxic to the environment.

As summer approaches, Wecf France and Agir pour l'Environnement , two environmental protection associations, have studied the composition of 71 sun creams, labeled "for children" and available in supermarkets, pharmacies, parapharmacies or organic stores. Result: these products almost all contain problematic substances, even "extremely worrying" according to these associations. "We want to protect children from the sun, but at the same time they are exposed to chemicals such as endocrine disruptors, allergens and nanoparticles", denounced Magali Ringoot, of the association Agir pour l'Environnement , on Thursday at the microphone from Europe 1 .

The composition of these sunscreens also harms the environment. "This especially affects phytoplankton while it is the basis of the food chain. It accumulates in the environment and we can ultimately find it on our plates," continues Magali Ringoot.

"There is not a single sunscreen that does not have at least one substance of concern, and there is more than one in two sunscreen that has at least one substance of very high concern. less worse 'and try to decrypt the labels to avoid the most problematic, "advises Magali Ringoot. The two associations ask that the National Health Security Agency be seized.
