- The big difference is that it is removed with loss of income. We will look at what we have learned from this period and see if there were any groups that need special support now and in the future, ”says Anna Söderbäck, director of the Art Board and specifically mentions the area image and form. 

Artists with million income through their companies have been able to receive up to SEK 50,000 to cover loss of income during the pandemic as financial needs have not been part of the selection criteria - something that has drawn criticism.

Therefore, when the criteria are changed, the requirement for lost income is lifted. Instead, artistic quality and financial need will be at the center when the additional 20 million in crisis support can be searched for this summer.  

Still, the artists' committee thinks that the criticism has been partly misguided.

- Based on the fact that we would go on provable loss of income, everyone who has applied for and had regular contracts or proved that they had contracts, received the support. The small part that journalists have lifted is around 30 people, ie around 1.7 percent of those who have received funding, says Anna Söderbäck.
