Host Julien Lepers. - ISA HARSIN / SIPA

Julien Lepers will not receive the sums he has been claiming for almost three years, after being dismissed from Questions pour un champion . As Le Parisien reports , almost all of his claims for compensation were dismissed by the industrial tribunal.

According to the daily newspaper which obtained the council's judgment, FremantleMedia will still have to pay Julien Lepers 800,000 euros in severance pay, calculated on his monthly salary of 39,907 euros.

His lawyer intends to appeal

Julien Lepers was claiming just over 3.4 million euros after his ouster in 2016 from the presentation of Questions for a champion on France 3, after 28 years of service. The 66-year-old host then attacked FremantleMedia, the game production company, which he accused of being dismissed "without any real and serious cause". In particular, he alleged "age discrimination". Based inter alia on the letter of dismissal of the presenter, where are mentioned drops of audiences of the emission, the industrial tribunal rejected this request. The same applies to the complaints of "brutal and vexatious conditions in which the dismissal took place" and of "image damage".

If the host did not wish to speak on this sentence, his lawyer announced his intention to the Parisian to appeal. “My client got the minimum. By not wanting to allocate too large amounts, the industrial tribunal was not very courageous. But we will win the second round. We have all the elements to prove that we cannot dismiss a person because we believe they have become old-fashioned, ”he explains.
