Requesting high school job vacancies from an economic group Ibaraki Prefectural Board of Education Corona Concerns Concerns June 29, 11:58

Due to the impact of the new coronavirus, high school students, who are expected to graduate next spring, may find it difficult to find jobs, and the Ibaraki Prefectural Board of Education and others have asked economic groups to secure jobs for high school students.

On the 29th, Mr. Motonobu Koizumi, Director of Education of Ibaraki Prefectural Board of Education, and Takaaki Ogawa, Director of Employment Security Department, Ibaraki Labor Bureau, handed the request to representatives of four economic groups in the prefecture.

The request letter asks for cooperation in securing the number of high school students who will graduate next spring and hiring them as full-time employees.

Koizumi, the superintendent of education, asked the representatives of the four groups that "high school employment is important for revitalizing the local economy, and we would like to ask for positive hiring activities."

Yuichi Kato, Managing Director of the Ibaraki Prefecture Business Association, said, "Some companies are uncertain about what to hire, but this is the time when some companies want to hire talented people. I would like you to implement various measures to maintain employment."

The job vacancies for high school students will be released on July 1st, and recruitment will start on October 16th, one month later than usual.

“I would like to support high school students who may feel anxiety and continue to call for aggressive hiring of companies,” said Koizumi.
