German Chancellor Angela Merkel believes that the world should not take for granted the US desire for world leadership.

The German leader said this in an interview with six European publications. “We grew up with the strong knowledge that the United States wants to be a world power. If the US now voluntarily decides to abandon this role, we will have to think carefully about it, ”Merkel believes.

All this happens against the backdrop of talks about the US intention to withdraw part of the military contingent from Germany. In this regard, according to Merkel, Berlin understands the need to increase budget expenditures for defense. “We in Germany know that we should spend more on defense. In recent years, our expenses in this area have increased significantly, and we will continue to build up our military potential, ”the Chancellor said.

Let's start from the end, that is, with the American military presence in Germany in particular and in Europe as a whole. This presence has lost its relevance and, accordingly, any justification has been at least twice. The first time was after the collapse of the Soviet bloc and, as a result, the cessation of the norms of the bipolar Yalta world. The second time - after the advent of Trump and the collapse of the project of unipolar globalization, finally finished off by the coronavirus.

And if for the first time the Americans remained in Europe under the pretext that the bipolar world was replaced by a unipolar, but essentially American, then for the second time there was no more justification. They are simply not there.

And the unipolar American world was only benevolence, a category of faith.

While Europe believed in US global dominance and supremacy, that superiority existed. Good America bombed Yugoslavia in the center of Europe, and in Europe they believed in its goodness. The United States invaded sovereign Iraq, while in Europe they reassured themselves with the interests of democracy. The Americans blew up the whole Middle East, provoking the invasion of hordes of migrants in Europe, and in the EU they justified this by the need to respect human rights.

In principle, until some point, the United States really looked good as a world hegemon. While no one opened his mouth, not daring to utter a laugh.

Errors were attributed to costs, costs to a too large area of responsibility, responsibility for the fate of the world - to the "exclusivity of the American nation." Exclusivity was justified by faith in American power. Faith rested on impeccability, and individual errors striking on impeccability were attributed to costs.

And so it would be, but something went wrong. Of course, something has gone wrong, of course, Russia. Out of habit, we are ready to exclaim: “No, we have nothing to do with it, we did not intervene, we are not to blame!” But no, really to blame. At least that we are, that we are a Russian people with its thousand-year history, that we are sovereign, we have our own culture, lifestyle and way of thinking, that we fight back the attacks of the West every century, defending our independence, and we will continue to do so , no matter what.

From the point of view of globalization, American unipolar domination, and special, faith-based exclusivity is a crime.

However, it turns out that not only Russians think so. North Korea and Iran are sovereign. “Well, I see, these are outcasts!” The Arabs did not agree, but in Washington, as we see, they are not held for people at all. Venezuela, Bolivia ... "We will sort this out in our backyard somehow."

India preserves its lifestyle, culture and traditions. “Savages living in the mud,” they say in the American Congress. But China wanted to spit on the American way of life and thoughts - the economy is number one, if we evaluate not the virtual assets, but the real sector. "This, of course, is already more serious, but what to take from them, wild Asians." But then a voice of disagreement came from Europe. Yes, not just from Europe, but from its very center - from Germany. And then it becomes clear that there are a majority of those who disagree.

The obedient German Frau, who was silent all the time, meekly carrying out any, most humiliating orders of the American "exclusive" master, suddenly declared that she no longer agreed with the opinion of the master. And the point is not even in the boldness of Frau that came from nowhere. It's just that the lord is not the same ...

America is treacherous and unfair, and it seems that they have even come to terms with this. The United States does not act in the interests of all, and not even in the interests of the Western world, but only and exclusively in its interests. This, apparently, was what Barack Obama had in mind when he spoke of American exceptionalism. America threw Europe during the coronavirus, trying to steal the vaccine for itself. But America is not united within itself. American elites split up and snapped over Trump. But this was not enough for them, and they burned America itself from the inside.

Neither justice, nor custody of humanity, nor the maintenance of a global world order, nor control over the observance of international law, nor Western civilizational solidarity, nor security for the allies, nor internal political unity, nor ...

Not America itself as a coveted city on a hill, but only the ruins of healthcare, impregnable rocks of education, social fragmentation, internal strife, a dubious history of formation, dark spots of slaveholding and genocide of Indians, poverty of destitute masses (mainly dark-skinned and colored), robbery, mutual massacre, burning cars and broken windows.

And do these people claim global dominance, exclusivity and geopolitical hegemony? More precisely, not so. So far more modest: "We have grown up with the firm knowledge that the United States wants to be a world power." We were brought up submissive and firmly aware that the USA is the master of the world. But it turned out that we Germans - a great culture, Germanic peoples with centuries of history, one of the first centralized states in Europe, the descendants of the heroic Saxons, knights and warriors, driven by faith and honor - are simply occupied and crushed.

And by whom? Arrogant upstarts with a teenage mind, unable to clean up their own home?

Being under America, especially in its current state, looking at chaos and internal decay, at the greed of American capital and venality of politicians, at irresponsibility and treachery around the world, is simply humiliating.

It is humiliating not only for the Germans, who, as it seemed, were accustomed to humiliation. It is humiliating for Europe as a whole, which once gave birth to the New World. It is humiliating for the Japanese, crushed by nuclear bombing, deprived of their own culture and identity. For Koreans, divided and occupied from the south. It is humiliating for the people of Australia, the descendants of the white colonialists, who have come to the virgin and untouched continent and crowding out the indigenous people, for Canada - the natural continuation of the North American states that have spread to the north. And even for Britain, once the United Kingdom and controlling half the world.

And, actually, that's all. The rest are against America, do not agree with its exclusivity, geopolitical hegemony and cultural dominance and have their own point of view.

It turns out that Germany received the last sight. But, remembering her Christian roots, perhaps it is she, according to biblical logic, who will be the first among those who will end with no more justified American dominance, freed not only from the American military presence, but also from the musty spirit of America, from which today in Europe there is simply nothing to breathe.
