The afternoon promises to be explosive Wednesday in the harbor of Brest. A team from the Atlantic Minesweeper Divers Group (GPD) will destroy a shell between 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., we learned this Monday from the Atlantic Maritime Prefecture. The explosive device was discovered on June 8 by these same divers during a training in the anchorage area of the White House.

The shell in question measures 155 millimeters, weighs approximately 50 kg and contains approximately 9 kg of TNT explosives. As part of this operation, a prefectural decree was taken to secure the area. Fishing activities as well as swimming or nautical leisure activities will therefore be prohibited in the White House sector during the entire firecracking period.
