Li Yaohua, a mathematics teacher at Duofeng Elementary School in Dongkeng Town, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, committed misconduct against multiple 8-11 year old girls in the name of "correcting wrong questions". On June 27, the Education Management Center of Dongkeng Township confirmed that Li Yaohua was criminally detained by the public security organ on June 12 for "suspicion of indecent students".
Some family members of the victims told reporters from China Youth Daily and China Youth Daily that according to the children, Li Yaohua had molested at least 5 girls, sometimes in the presence of multiple girls.
At noon on June 11, Lu Yixuan, a fourth-grade student at Duofeng Elementary School (in order to protect the privacy of minors, the pseudonym of minors and their families in the text), began to lose his temper when he returned home, picking up the things at hand and smashing walls and tables.
When Mother Lu picked up the child from school, she found that her daughter's eyes were "red." She asked her daughter if she was criticized by her teacher at school. The daughter said: "I don't know how to say it, I'm scared."
Lu Yixuan told her mother that the math teacher always had to take her to the fifth floor, saying that it was "correcting the wrong questions" and closing the door and closing the curtains. Her description made her mother unbelievable: the teacher would touch her back, buttocks and sex organs while speaking.
She also said that such things started in the third grade. "Why didn't you tell your mother in the third grade?" Mother Lu asked.
"I'm afraid." Lu Yixuan said.
Mother Lu first called her daughter's class teacher to report the situation, and then contacted Chen Tongyu, the mother of another classmate in her daughter's class.
In October 2019, Chen Tongyu had visited several parents of students such as Mother Lu, and her daughter Zhong Xiaoyun said that she was "touched ass" by Li Yaohua. She wondered if other children had encountered the same situation, and several parents said they did not find out.
"If you do a deep research at that time, you may find the situation and blame me..." Chen Tongyu regretfully raised the matter with reporters.
The earliest thing she discovered was that her daughter was late at noon and took a lunch break. She patted her daughter's ass and said, "You are not sleeping yet, hurry and go to bed!"

After Mother Lu called on June 11, Chen Tongyu carefully questioned her daughter to know that Li Yaohua would reach into the girl's clothes and touch her back and sexual organs.
"I have forgotten too many times. After the semester started, I touched a total of four times. There were separate students and four or five classmates were present." Zhong Xiaoyun also said the names of some of the classmates.
Because of the new coronary pneumonia epidemic, Duofeng Elementary School only opened on May 18 this semester-according to Zhong Xiaoyun, Li Yaohua molested her 4 times within a month.

On June 12, when the police took notes, Chen Tongyu, who was sitting next to her daughter, learned that her daughter had been violated by Li Yaohua since she was in third grade in 2018.
Chen Tongyu heard these words, "It's completely blank in his mind." After calming down, she and Mom quickly rushed to the school to find the class teacher and principal to understand the situation. At school, the two met another father, Ming Mingyuan, who was the victim of the girl.
Shen Mingyuan and his wife also found out that their daughter had been violated after being reminded by Mother Lu. On the afternoon of June 11, they rushed to school and called their daughter Xinxin to the car. Shen Mingyuan told reporters that her daughter's courage has always been very small. After repeated inquiries, Xin Xin said quietly that she "touched her back".
Shen Mingyuan was very shocked, "I'm empty of heart, I don't know what to do." He asked his wife to ask her daughter if Li Yaohua had taken off his pants in front of her. The daughter replied that the teacher did not take off her pants, but touched her lower body.
In the impression of many parents, Li Yaohua was black and skinny, aged about 40 years old, and had already thanked him. "A very ordinary person." He is in charge of mathematics classes in the third grade of the fourth grade. In addition, he also serves as a physical education class and calligraphy class teacher. There is an independent office on the fifth floor of the teaching building. According to the victim's description, the place of indecency was in his office and the fifth floor meeting room.
Parents who have seen the scene said that the table in the conference room is about 1.2 meters high and the 10-year-old girl is about 1.4 meters high. Li Yaohua used the table as a cover when committing the crime. It is difficult to find even if there is a camera in the room.
Some of the victimized girls will ask each other, "Did the math teacher touch you again?" When they were called out, they would not dare to go alone, and they would ask their classmates to go together. Three parents told reporters that according to the situation reflected by their children, Li Yaohua would commit molesting when four or five girls were present at the same time.
In order to dispel the wariness of girls, Li Yaohua sometimes asks boys and girls to "correct the wrong questions" together, but will first deal with the problems of boys and leave the girls at the end.
After receiving a notice on several occasions, Lu Yixuan worried that Li Yaohua would look for her and hid in the toilet after class before returning to the classroom.
One time this year, after being called by Li Yaohua to the fifth floor conference room, many girls saw that the classmates in front were touched by Li Yaohua again. Lu Yixuan pretended to drop the pen on the ground and wrote "Report to the principal" on the note. But the note fell when it was passed to other students and was discovered by Li Yaohua.
Li Yaohua picked up the note and tore it and threw it in the trash, and warned the girl present: Do not walk in the doorway of the principal's office and go back to the classroom.
Lu Yixuan told Mother Lu that she later wanted to report Li Yaohua many times, but she was afraid to return every time she walked to the principal's office.
The father of another victimized girl Xia Linlin told reporters that after entering the third grade, her daughter's math scores plummeted, and she was often complained by the class teacher of "lying"-the daughter said "the teacher did not leave math homework" at home, and went to school and said "the homework was finished. Forgotten at home."
Xia Linlin's mother has a strong personality. When she is tutoring her daughter's homework, she sees that her daughter's math performance is very poor. She will ask her why she went to class. The daughter just sat there crying without saying a word.
Looking back on the couple now, what the daughter said directly about Li Yaohua was: "The math teacher in our class is so perverted."
They regretted owing too much to their daughters, and there were many abnormalities, but they were too busy to work, "not thinking about it at all (sexual assault)".
Xia Linlin will not dare to turn off the lights when she sleeps at night from 2019. Even if her parents turn off the lights after she falls asleep, she will get up and turn on. This year she started to wet the bed, and she dared not go to the toilet herself at night. To this end, the family bought an anti-seepage pad. These problems, Xia Linlin never appeared before the third grade.
In addition to the four girls, on June 13, the parents of the fifth victim also reported to the police that the daughter was molested by Li Yaohua.
In addition, the names of other girls were mentioned by the victims, but Shen Ming went to fight for the parents to report to the police, and the other party said "no such thing".
On June 12, Duofeng Elementary School issued an "Investigation on the Li Yaohua Incident" to four parents. According to the school's written material, the school's principal Su Yaotang and another vice-principal had two conversations with Li Yaohua. Li Yaohua did not deny the "harassment" reported by the students, "deeply recognize his mistakes and offered to resign."
The school stated that it accepted Li Yaohua's resignation application and "resolutely quit Li Yaohua".
Parents such as Chen Tongyu did not approve of the results. They believed that Li Yaohua had molested multiple girls in public for two years, and that the school and the education management department had serious defaults.
"I just want to transfer my daughter. The school basically knows about it, and even the male students in the class know it." Chen Tongyu said that more than half a month after the incident, parents did not wait to come to the school and other relevant departments. A reasonable response was received, and the child's request for transfer was not answered.
On June 27, the Dongkeng Town Education Management Center reported that the Dongkeng Town Party Committee and the government attached great importance to this, and established a joint investigation team composed of political, legal, educational, and public security departments to conduct a comprehensive investigation of the problems reported by parents. After the incident, Duofeng Primary School immediately suspended the position of the teacher involved, cooperated with the public security organ to investigate and collect evidence, and protected the privacy of the injured students in accordance with the law and regulations to avoid secondary harm to the students. The town's education department organized psychological experts to provide emotional comfort and psychological intervention to the victimized students and their parents, and arranged school mental health teachers to track the students' mental health.
Shen Mingyuan told the China Youth Daily and China Youth Daily reporter that several parents believed that Li Yaohua’s behavior of molesting girls was too “understatement”, and only mentioned “obscene students”, and the mental health teacher he had arranged was not fully focused. Because of the children's psychological problems, they tended to guide students not to expose this matter many times during the communication process.
"Protecting children's privacy does not mean protecting criminal suspects." Shen Mingyuan said, "We only hope that children can transfer to another environment, the bad guys will be severely punished, and then this matter will pass as soon as possible."
Chen Tongyu told his daughter Zhong Xiaoyun that Li Yaohua was arrested by the police. The daughter said happily, "The bad guy caught it, and he won't touch me anymore." Chen Tongyu was worried that the obscenity of the math teacher would cause long-term harm to her daughter.
Xia Linlin happily told her father after school that we just changed a math teacher and was a female teacher.
