Tourism in Europe, reinventing everything or not?

Of all the sectors that have suffered from the Covid-19 pandemic, tourism is probably the one that has come out of the crisis the most devastated.

Publicity

In Europe, tourism represents 1% of German GDP, but 20% of that of Croatia.
However, this summer, Europeans will go on vacation but especially at home.

The intra-European borders have barely reopened and still not all. As for the Schengen border, it is still closed to Asian or American tourists.
The large tourist countries of the South will not experience the influx of past years.
If all the players in the sector are reached, the growth model of airlines, tour operators and cruise lines is threatened. Will the coronavirus permanently challenge mass tourism in favor of local tourism that is more respectful of the environment or, on the contrary, will tourism afterwards eventually resemble tourism before?
