To mark Queen's 50th anniversary, the British Royal Post is preparing to issue a series of special stamps. By less than 13 stamps which will be sold from July 9, containing some of the most memorable representations of the group.

There will be a photo taken in the studio, four individual shots taken live by Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon as well as the album covers for Queen II , Sheer Heart Attack , A Night at the Opera , News of the World , The Game , Greatest Hits , The Works , and Innuendo .
“Sometimes it's weird to wake up and realize where you are. We have become a national institution! And I really realize it with this incredible tribute from the Royal Mail, ”said Brian May in a statement released by the Guardian.
Notice to collectors
Queen will therefore be the third music group to receive such a tribute from the Royal British Post. Before them, only the Beatles and Pink Floyd had benefited from such treatment. Needless to say, it will be a limited series. It is already possible to pre-order this series on the royal post office website.
The interpreters of Bohemian Rhapsody had already had the right to a series of coins struck by the royal currency a few months ago, always to celebrate their half century of existence.
