But what is this mysterious animal? A bat? A squirrel ? Well no ! It is a cologu. This little beast lives in tropical forests of Southeast Asia. Its genus is made up of two species: the Temminck galleopithecus, with gray fur, and the flying galleopithecus, with red fur.
Their peculiarity: the patagium, a large membrane of skin covered with fur that extends over the entire length of the body. Thanks to this, they can hover from tree to tree and travel more than 100 meters without touching the ground. This makes them the best gliders among all mammals.
