But after a first postponement from July 17 to 31, the Warner Bros. studio announced that the planned release date for the film is now August 12. The studio, a subsidiary of the AT&T telecommunications group, intends to release the feature film "when theatrical networks and health authorities believe it is the right time," a Warner Bros. spokesperson said in a statement sent on Friday to AFP.

"In this period, we have to be flexible and we don't consider this a traditional outing," added the spokesperson. Warner Bros. decided to release the film on a Wednesday, while the day for releases in the United States is traditionally Friday, "to allow the public to discover the film at their convenience". The studio also plans to allow Tenet to stay in theaters "much longer" than usual, a strategy "very different" from the norm, said the spokeswoman.
