The wolf is suspected of having carried out three attacks on flocks of sheep last weekend near Dieppe (Seine-Maritime). It is not the first time that such acts of predation have been recorded in this sector, reports Paris-Normandy .

The first attack took place in the night from Friday to Saturday in Saint-Riquier-en-Rivière. A sheep was killed. Then, the following two nights, two sheep from the same flock were attacked in Douvrend.

A dozen attacks identified

Agents from the Departmental Directorate for Land and Sea (DDTM) and the French Office for Biodiversity (OFB) came to make observations. If it is a wolf attack, the victim breeders will be compensated. “We have a multitude of indications confirming this hypothesis (…). The animal attacks its prey on the neck and tears off its paw almost every time, ”explains to the regional daily François Bellouard, the deputy director of the DDTM.

A dozen other attacks attributed to the wolf have already been recorded in this sector since mid-April. It would be a single animal.
