The Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, proposed Wednesday to the unions an envelope of six billion euros to increase the salaries of non-medical hospital staff, we learned from concordant sources.

A month after its opening, the "Ségur de la santé" finally responded to the main demand of the unions: the increase in the remuneration of caregivers - excluding doctors, who are the subject of parallel negotiations.

A general increase in wages

During a meeting on this subject, Olivier Véran put forward the figure of six billion "for hospitals, medico-social establishments (public, editor's note) and private establishments," one of the participants told AFP.

This sum includes a general increase in the salaries of public service employees in hospitals (hospitals, nursing homes, etc.), a redesign of bonuses, as well as targeted increases in certain professions, which could be extended to private establishments, said three others. sources.

These targeted increases would concern in particular the nursing categories (nurses, nursing assistants) and medico-technical categories (laboratory technicians, radio manipulators), according to a draft agreement discussed at a previous meeting on Friday.

This document, given to the unions, provided that the general increase in wages in the public sector would come into effect "from July 1".

"The government must completely review its copy"

For some unions, the increase of six billion proposed by the government is not enough, however. "The government must completely review its copy," said even a union official, for whom "the pressure is on the executive, which has an objective of results".

After the success of the day of action on June 16, which brought together tens of thousands of demonstrators throughout France, several unions (CGT, FO, SUD, Unsa) and caregivers' groups (Inter-Hospitals, Inter-Emergencies) ) called for a new mobilization on June 30.

They thus intend to maintain the pressure on the "Ségur de la santé", which must materialize by mid-July the "massive plan" promised by Emmanuel Macron in order to improve the daily lives of caregivers and the reception of patients.
