On June 23, the main pier of the 196-meter-high Jinyang River Bridge in Jinyang County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province was successfully capped, setting a new height record for the world’s tallest rigid-frame pier bridge.

  The bridge has a total investment of 339 million yuan. It uses a prestressed continuous cast-in-place box girder continuous rigid frame span structure. The bridge deck is about 238 meters above the river bed, the bridge body is 757.5 meters in total length, and the bridge's main span span is 200 meters. The design speed 40 kilometers. The bridge has a total of 2 abutments and 8 piers, of which the No. 6 main pier is 196 meters high, which is the world's first tallest pier of the same type.

  The Jinyang River Extra Large Bridge is expected to be completed by the end of 2021. After completion, it will greatly facilitate cross-strait contact, further improve local regional traffic conditions, increase the capacity and service level of the trunk roads of Liangshan Prefecture in Sichuan, and continue to promote the local Yi people to get rid of poverty and become rich.
