The minister said that Ethiopia wants the Renaissance Dam to bring development and bring the Ethiopians out of the darkness, poverty and ignorance, which is what Egypt does not want, because it believes that Ethiopia's development will lead to its control over more Nile waters, stressing that these concerns are not valid.
He added that Addis Ababa has repeatedly stressed that it will not harm the interests of Sudan or Egypt in the waters of the Nile, and that it is convinced that the three countries can take full advantage of this water, and added, "The Nile is located in Ethiopian lands, we could build the dam quietly and without any right to object, We did not do this because we know what the Nile means to Egypt and Sudan.
