Spain is preparing to pay tribute to the victims of the pandemic without having yet known how to count them . Or without having wanted to count them: the Ministry of Health updated its data yesterday after weeks without doing so, while the Government refuses to include in that sad count the deceased that the Mortality Monitoring System computes these months as excess over the previous year . This is the usual method for calculating epidemic mortality ; if adopted, we would go from the 28,313 official victims to no less than 40,000. And it's not the same.
