Medical research has found that people with Covid-19, without symptoms, acquire lower levels of immunity to the virus than those who develop severe symptoms.

Most patients with the virus show relatively minor signs of infection, and in a small percentage of them, there are no symptoms at all, according to Sky News.

Researchers working in China compared two groups of individuals with Covid-19 disease in the Wanzhou District of Chongping City: 37 had symptoms, compared to 37 who did not.

The researchers analyzed blood samples from the two groups taken a few weeks after recovery, and found that only 62.2% of the group that had no symptoms had short-range antibodies, compared with 78.4% of the placebo group.

After 8 weeks of convalescence, antibodies decreased in 81.1% of patients who did not have symptoms, compared to 62.2% in those who had symptoms.

In addition, patients who did not have symptoms had lower levels of 18 anti-inflammatory proteins than the group with symptoms, and this indicates a weaker immune response to the Coronavirus.
