Actress Kristen Stewart - Zuma / Starface

Kristen Stewart will soon be a princess on the big screen. And not just any: the one that has undoubtedly had the greatest impact on the general public in the 20th century. According to Deadline, the actress was recruited to interpret Lady Diana in a biopic produced by the Chilean Pablo Larrain.

The film is written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight and is slated to go into production in early 2021. Spencer (the last name of the Princess of Wales) will tell the story of an imaginary weekend in the early 1990s when " Princess of Hearts ”decides that her marriage to Prince Charles no longer satisfies her. A "reverse fairy tale", according to the filmmaker.

“We all grew up imagining the fairy tale that this story could be. In general, the prince picks up the princess, offers to become his wife, and she becomes queen. That's the fairy tale. But when this princess decides not to become queen, and says, “I prefer to leave and stay myself”, it's a huge decision, a fairy tale upside down. I have always been surprised by this and it must be very difficult. This is the heart of the film, "he said.

Force of nature

Pablo Larrain did not hesitate very long before finding the ideal interpreter to play Diana Frances Spencer, now Princess of Wales. "Kristen can be many things, she can be mysterious and very fragile, but very strong at the same time, and that's exactly what we need. The combination of all these elements made me think of it. His way of reacting to the script and his approach to the character, all that is magnificent. I think it will be splendid and that it will intrigue everyone at the same time. It is a force of nature, "he told the publication.

No release date has been announced for this new film by Pablo Larrain, after Neruda and Jackie .
