A study draws up a sad assessment on the economic losses concerning the music. In 2020, the turnover should have represented 10.4 billion euros but, with the health crisis, it will drop by 43% and will be estimated at 4.5 billion euros only. The Center Pompidou will reopen on July 1, with "committed programming". A letter written by Van Gogh and Gauguin has been sold at auction to Drouot for more than 200,000 euros and will be exhibited in Amsterdam this fall. Jean-Michel Jarre organizes Sunday, June 21, a musical concert, entitled "Alone Together". live from his studio, he will therefore offer a virtual reality show where his avatar will play his titles. Ewan Mcgregor will overtake Jiminy Cricket in the next "Pinocchio" by Guillermo Del Toro. Kristen Stewart will play the role of Lady Di in the cinema in a film called "Spencer".

The Journal de la Culture begins with a very disturbing study for the music industry.

Information from our colleagues in Paris, this study draws a sad balance sheet on the economic losses concerning music. The second French cultural industry is 257,000 jobs and 10 billion euros in turnover. In 2020, the turnover should have represented 10.4 billion euros but, with the health crisis, it will drop by 43% and will be estimated at 4.5 billion euros only. Losses from concert halls, tours and festivals (with more than 150,000 concerts canceled) are estimated at 2.3 billion euros. The losses linked to the drop in CD sales are estimated at 200 million euros and that of instrument manufacturers at 75 million euros. The Society of Authors and Composers and Music Publishers asked its members for the direct impact of confinement on their activity. On average, 25 projects were postponed and 15,000 euros were lost. For Jean Noël Tronc, the director of Sacem, it's a non-music festival. He will be Culture Media's guest this Friday. And then, it's everyone from culture who is mobilizing in the OBS this week through a dossier called "SOS Spectacle". With the health crisis, 22,000 intermittents du spectacle and 4,200 permanent workers are threatened with disappearing or forced to retrain. 15 artists such as Ariane Ascaride, Fabrice Luchini, Dominique A or Deni Podalydes testify to their concern in the magazine.

Fortunately, there is some good news, such as the reopening of the Museums and Monuments, and this continues this time with the Center Pompidou.

Opening July 1, with "committed programming". The day after the reopening, a debate with researchers and artists will be organized to discuss racial discrimination. 200 children will be welcomed this summer for workshops and meetings. The operation "six walls, six artists" will therefore invite young people to create outdoors, six wall surfaces have been reinvested. At the end of July, "Global Résistance" will highlight around sixty artists gathered over the past 10 years, the exhibition will evoke political protest at the time of decolonization.

A letter written by Van Gogh and Gauguin exhibited in Amsterdam.

Exceptional letter, handwritten and written therefore with four hands by Vincent Van Gogh and Paul Gauguin, it dates from 1888 and they write to their friend Emile Bernard. In this letter, the two artists show their mutual admiration and discuss the future of modern art. They speak of a painter's association and Van Gogh wonders whether it should have a commercial character or not. They evoke a "Renaissance", a feeling of a new world in art. They write "Who believes that this new art will have the tropics for fatherland. It seems to me that we ourselves only serve as intermediaries. And that it will only be a next generation which will succeed in living in peace". This letter was sold at auction to Drouot for more than 200,000 euros, it will be exhibited in Amsterdam this fall, at the Van Gogh museum. The museum already has more than 875 letters from the artist.

Jean-Michel Jarre in virtual reality for the music festival.

He organizes Sunday, June 21, a musical concert, entitled Alone Together. live from his studio, he will therefore offer a virtual reality show where his avatar will play his titles. It is still a great first. The concert will be broadcast on Facebook and YouTube. There will also be a silent projection in the courtyard of the Palais Royal in Paris for students in a sound and image training school.

Ewan Mcgregor in the skin of a cricket.

The actor will double Jiminy Cricket in the next "Pinocchio" by Guillermo Del Toro. A project with also Tilda Swinton, Christophe Waltz. This is a musical, we will delve into the 1930s.

This diary ends with the one who will embody Princess Diana.

It's Kristen Stewart. She will therefore be Lady Di at the cinema in a film called "Spencer". The film focuses on the period when Diana decided to be the wife of the future king. Production of the film will not begin until early 2021.
