This initiative, not really in the Pyrenean culture, received this Thursday a scathing response from Christine Téqui, the socialist president of the departmental council of Ariège. Several animal welfare associations called for a white march on Saturday in Foix, in tribute to the killed bear. According to La Dépêche du Midi , the Ariège prefecture has decided to ban this event.
