Two people were arrested on Wednesday as part of an investigation into the assault of a police officer on the sidelines of the Parisian demonstration of caregivers on Tuesday, we learned from a police source. One of the two arrested is suspected of being the perpetrator who knocked down the police officer, said this source, who confirms information from BFMTV.

During scuffles when protesters arrived at Place des Invalides, this policeman had been severely beaten by several people before being exfiltrated by his colleagues. He suffers from a head trauma, various bruises and has a broken tooth, according to the police source. "He must file a complaint," said the same source. The author of the tripod was notably recognizable by the orange lining of his jacket, according to videos posted on social networks.

At the end of the Paris demonstration, the police prefecture had reported 32 arrests linked to the scuffles and 19 wounded in the ranks of the police.
