Publicity

Faced with a serious crisis of confidence, President IBK is trying to defuse the movement of political and social discontent which has been exacerbated since the big demonstration on June 5.

Yesterday, the Head of State intervened again, with several announcements to decipher the social and political climate: “  These announcements , specifies the information site Maliweb , go from the application of article 39 allowing to put an end the teachers' strike, consultation with all stakeholders to resolve the crisis born in the bowels of this year's legislative elections, the reform of the Constitutional Court, including the formation of a government of national unity, up to the explanations on the evidence of life of the leader of the opposition, Soumaïla Cissé, still held hostage, and on the management of security and health crises.  "

Confidence crisis

Nevertheless, the account is not there, says L'Indépendant . For the Bamako daily, IBK did not go to the end, as advocated by its own majority. Namely, he did not announce the dissolution of the National Assembly and the Constitutional Court. Hence the great title of L'Indépendant  : “  IBK takes its majority against the odds.  "

Journal commentary: “  Few of our fellow citizens still believe in the governance of IBK, so many unfinished projects and the effects of announcements are numerous and short-lived. Even the president's friends are starting to worry openly and refuse to endorse the extreme positions taken by the presidential camp.  "

Mali is sinking into a crisis of confidence,  " sighs for its part Le Pays à Bamako . This "  sad reality is experienced in almost all circles in the district and regional capitals. Politics, civil society, religious leaders, activists, notables ... it's the same pipe, the same tobacco! People prioritize their own interests rather than those of the Nation. Reason for which, we burst (…). See for yourself, the folklore that IBK and its adversaries deliver today to the Malians! , exclaims Le Pays. It is a national disgrace. Seven years of cacophony at the time when the sacrifice had to be the leitmotif of any worthy son of Mali.  "

Acute dialogue!

The press in the sub-region always has its eyes on Mali and points to the absence of dialogue ...

Indeed, says L'Observateur Paalga in Burkina , we are witnessing an  acute "dialogue" crisis ! (…) “My door is always open, my hand remains stretched”, had launched IBK on Sunday in particular, but it is to be feared that its gripping organ remains suspended in the air (…). His opponents, who also maintained their demonstration next Friday, thus practiced the empty chair policy yesterday at the Bamako Convention Center, where the tenant of the Koulouba palace had invited the living forces of the Nation to a concertation to get out of the crisis. Except spectacular reversal of which the politicians have the secret, there is of this fact little chance , estimates the Observer Paalga, that its proposal to form a government of national union finds a favorable response even if there will always be opponents to go to soup.  "

The new strong man: Imam Dicko

And for Ledjely in Guinea , IBK will absolutely have to deal with the spiritual leader of the M5, of the June 5 Movement, namely Imam Dicko ... "  Unquestionably, the new strong man who stands in front of Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta is called Mahmoud Dicko. He is not legally the leader of the opposition, but in reality, he may well obtain concessions from the Malian authorities that Soumaïla Cissé could not have wrested from them. But for that, he himself must come out of the clouds , says Ledjely. As for his movement, he must better structure himself before going to meet the camp loyal to IBK. Because he and his entourage must know this, there is no alternative to dialogue. The demand for the resignation of the Malian president is a laudable stance. But this is not a realistic claim, points the Guinean site, when we know that IBK is only in the second year of his second and final mandate. Lucidity requires the June 5 Movement not to overbid, concludes Ledjely, at the risk of harvesting the opportunities it has created and at the same time dulling the hope it arouses in Malians.  "
