In the early morning of June 17, due to short-term heavy rainfall, a torrential debris flow disaster occurred in Meilonggou, Banfanmen Town, Danba County, Sichuan, blocking the Xiaojinchuan River and forming a dammed lake. The Meilong Power Station with a installed capacity of 2,000 kilowatts was washed away. On-site rescue work is still under way.
By 12:00 on the 17th, Danba County had evacuated more than 5,000 households with a total of 20,000 people, successfully rescued 14 people, added 1 lost person, and lost 2 persons in total. The Meilong Barrage Lake in Banfanmen Town, Danba County is basically stable, and the dam has begun to overflow, and the river channel near the village of Aniangou has been diverted. Houses, transportation, electricity, communications and other facilities in the affected areas were damaged to varying degrees.
Aba Prefecture Xiaojin County Fire and Rescue Brigade urgently dispatched 16 people in 4 vehicles and carried more than 100 pieces of rescue equipment such as life-saving, protection, communication and lighting to the affected area.
At present, Danba County is actively organizing the disaster-affected people to carry out self-rescue, and to carry out flood relief and rescue work.
