In March, the government and the partners announced that the culture will be allocated 500 million in crisis support. The Cultural Council is responsible for sharing 370 of the millions, and now the first decisions have come.

Monday's distribution of about SEK 21 million includes applications that apply to amounts up to SEK 100,000. There are many smaller actors such as music groups, theater ensembles and associations.

During Tuesday, June 16, the grants will be distributed to those who applied for amounts over SEK 100,000.

All eligible will receive support

The applications that have been submitted to the Cultural Council, in total, correspond to SEK 763 million, more than twice as much as the 370 million available to distribute. The Cultural Council writes in a press release that all those who have applied for crisis support and are eligible for grants will also receive money, but not the entire sum sought.

Half of the funds allocated go to the music area and a quarter to performing arts. Remaining funds go to actors in the visual and form field, museums, exhibition activities, literature and reading activities, as well as arts and crafts organizers and actors.
