Figure almost as emblematic as the xenomorph and cult character of science fiction, Ellen Ripley was in the cast of four Alien films . Then Ridley Scott, director of the original film, staged the disguised prequel Prometheus , followed by the most official Alien: Covenant . The filmmaker Neill Blomkamp ( District 9, Elysium ) once spoke of an Alien 5 , with the support of Sigourney Weaver, but Ridley Scott has denied the rumor. Since then, the latter seems more motivated to tell the continuation of the adventures of the Android David than to see Ellen Ripley again handle the flame thrower.

Sigourney Weaver thus reveals having received a treatment of fifty pages of a possible Alien 5 a year and a half ago from Water Hill, producer of the franchise. But the actress is not personally convinced that Ripley should return. "I don't know," she says. Ridley Scott left in a different direction. Maybe Ripley has done his part. She deserves rest. Sigourney Weaver does not rest, and will be playing in the suites of Avatar and Ghostbusters 3 .
