“It's true - the next Oscar will be held on April 25, 2021,” the Academy’s statement said on Twitter.
It is noted that the Academy plans to publish short lists of applicants for the award in a number of categories on February 9 of next year. The nominees for the award will be announced on March 15, 2021.
In April 2020, it became known that the organizers of the Oscar film award announced a decision to temporarily change the selection rules in connection with the coronavirus pandemic and to allow films that were shown online, rather than in movie theaters, to participate in the competition in 2021.
