Spain has registered a sharp decrease in the number of people infected by coronavirus, with 48 new cases in 24 hours, compared to 130 yesterday (82 fewer). A hopeful news before which, however, we must not lower our guard, as the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, pointed out this morning, after the meeting he held today with the leaders of the autonomous communities, warning that "although the contagion curve has been bent, the pandemic is not over, " so the possible risk of a second wave of Covid-19 exists.

Of these new infections, 12 have been reported in the Community of Madrid, eight in the Valencian community and seven in Catalonia. Aragon computes four cases and the autonomous regions of Andalusia, Castilla y León and the Basque Country three cases each. Cantabria and Extremadura have reported two cases each; Galicia, Melilla, Murcia and La Rioja, one case each. The rest of the autonomies have not had any positive diagnosis in the last 24 hours.

According to the update, the total number of infected is 243,928 people. The count of the last fourteen days indicates 4,434 people positive for coronavirus and 1,737 in the last week. In the last 14 days, 895 people have started symptoms, of which 253 correspond to the last week.

As for the number of deaths by Covid-19, the count provided by Health indicates 26 cases in the last seven days, one death less than that registered yesterday Saturday. The ranking is again in Madrid, with six people dead , followed by Castilla y León, with four, and Asturias, Castilla-La Mancha and the Basque Country, with three cases of deaths in the last week.

The total number of deceased remains, for the eighth consecutive day, frozen waiting for the autonomous communities to validate the new data collection system.

The cases of those affected who have needed hospitalization amount to 124,631, although in the last week, the number has also experienced a significant decrease : 110 people, of which only five have required admission to the ICU.
