From the beginning, the World Health Organization (WHO) was late in announcing that Covid-19 had developed and pandemic until March 11, and even announced it as a "health emergency with an international dimension", after its emergence and spread in China, and then its transmission to Many countries in the world. Despite this announcement, the international organization stressed that this declaration does not call for an overreaction!
Immediately after the initial reports on December 31 that something went wrong in Wuhan, Hong Kong and Taiwan began to check temperatures in the arrival halls of airports, warnings were issued to hospitals to search for acute respiratory diseases, and Singapore followed suit on January 3. But, on January 5, the World Health Organization reassured the world that such preventive measures were an overreaction, insisting that "there is no evidence of infection from one person to the next, and no cases have been reported among health care workers."
Although the World Health Organization recommended China "to conduct a screening of people at exit from international airports and ports in the affected areas", it did not recommend that such a screening of people when entering other countries that receive travelers from China!
During the past week, a high-ranking official in the organization shocked the world when she said, "The transmission of infection from people with (Covid-19) does not show symptoms of the disease, which is very rare." This commotion forced that responsible to back down and talk about "misunderstanding" of her words, and certainly there was no misunderstanding, her statements were clear, but what happened is a link in the chain of contradictions of the World Health Organization and its officials, and therefore it is very clear that the countries of the world in general and the Emirates In particular, it must rely on its research centers and doctors, and base its decisions on its internal studies, while maintaining the aspect of coordination and communication with the organization, without giving its decisions a sanctity that should not be overcome!
