Recently, colleges and universities nationwide have publicly announced the list of graduate students. Yang Yuqing, a blind girl who was enrolled in Nanjing Normal College of Special Education, successfully passed the initial and re-examinations and obtained a master's degree in development and educational psychology from Liaoning Normal University. This year, only one blind student of Yang Yuqing in Jiangsu Province applied for the postgraduate examination.

Yang Yuqing had congenital retinal dysplasia and studied at a blind school since childhood. In 2016, Yang Yuqing came to Nanjing Special Education Teachers College to receive integrated education and studied applied psychology.

In the course of professional learning, Yang Yuqing gradually realized the charm of psychology. Seeing some interesting phenomena in life, I can't help explaining it with psychological knowledge.

"I am full of interest in psychology. I am eager to learn more knowledge and be able to go further on the professional path." Yang Yuqing got the idea of postgraduate entrance examination in the second semester of junior year. There is also an ideal to support her determination to take the postgraduate entrance exam-to promote the education of children with disabilities.

Recalling his learning experience, Yang Yuqing found that blind students are significantly different from ordinary students in terms of graphics and spatial cognition, language, and interpersonal communication. Yang Yuqing said, "I hope to study the cognitive psychology, learning psychology and social interaction of children with disabilities, especially visually impaired children, and put forward appropriate education suggestions for them, so that they can get better development."

In the eyes of others, Yang Yuqing seems to be very relaxed, almost never stay up late to review, often go out shopping, eating, outings, participate in campus debates, recitation competitions and other activities with students. Those who are familiar with her know that this is a reward for her planned effort and self-discipline.

The visual impairment caused Yang Yuqing a lot of learning inconveniences. She always faced the difficulties and responded calmly. There is no Braille version of professional books and literature in the field of psychology. She will find electronic resources on the Internet, and then use special software to convert electronic books into a format that can be read by screen reading software.

In the process of conversion, there are often problems such as confusing typography and typos. But she still reads carefully, combs the knowledge frame carefully, and always tries her best to think hard in case of doubt, and strive to solve the problem independently.

English is the most difficult subject for Yang Yuqing. "Because you can only read Braille one word at a time, you can't keep up with the reading speed, and the reading comprehension and listening part of the exam are not enough at all." In order to improve the English level, Yang Yuqing chose "promoting learning through examination". During college, she signed up and passed the CET-4 and CET-6 exams.

Affected by the epidemic, this year's postgraduate entrance examination road is even more bumpy. The company of teachers, parents, and classmates has made Yang Yuqing's postgraduate entrance examination no longer lonely.

Yang Yuqing said, "I am very fortunate that from the beginning of preparation for the re-examination to the final admission, teachers, parents and classmates have given me a lot of help and support. Professional class teachers and counsellor teachers are very concerned about my postgraduate study and often communicate with me through QQ. Answer all my questions and give me guidance and encouragement."

Since the students were unable to return to school during the epidemic, the teachers also prepared various required retest materials for her. During the preparation period, Yang Yuqing's parents also actively paid attention to all kinds of postgraduate information and shared it with her every day.

Yang Yuqing also has a group of fellows of the same major. They set up a postgraduate group, regularly punch in every day, discuss problems, and discover their knowledge loopholes in time.

Before the re-examination, the application college Liaoning Normal University communicated with Yang Yuqing about the details of the remote interview, which made her feel very warm.

Yang Yuqing's class also worked out a detailed and thoughtful help plan for her. "Special thanks to the school, so that students like me have the same learning opportunities." Yang Yuqing said. (Finish)
