Since the start of the protests against police violence, triggered by the death of George Floyd in the United States, Christophe Castaner has been caught in the pincers. The Minister of the Interior tried to defuse the anger of the police, without succeeding in light of the first virulent reactions to his interviews with the police unions. After announcing Monday the abandonment of the throttling key during the arrests, he qualified his remarks vis-à-vis the unions.
