The reed field used to purify sewage is an ecological filter. The reeds are covered with natural filter material, loose stones, seepage pipes, diversion pipes, etc. After the rainwater and pavement sewage in the boat dock area are mixed, after filtering through this ecological filter, the standard of landscape water can be reached, and then Drain into the Zihe River.
In recent years, Changde has carried out the construction of a sponge city, introduced advanced pollution control concepts of the Hanover water system in Germany, and has rebuilt and newly built 6 sewage treatment pump stations and 15 rainwater pump stations along the banks of the Zihe River.
