According to reports, Li Jianxue had been criminally filed for maternal death while on duty and has been defending rights for eight years and five months.
According to the China Medical Doctor Association, Li Jianxue is a gynecologist and obstetrician in Changle City Hospital, Fujian Province. On December 31, 2011, the pregnant woman Chen Moufang died in the hospital after hemorrhage. Li Jianxue was the doctor on duty that night. On January 2, 2012, Dr. Li Jianxue was criminally charged with the crime of medical malpractice without the identification of a medical malpractice; on May 9, 2012, the Fuzhou Medical Association issued a "Medical Malpractice Technical Appraisal" and concluded that the case belonged to Class A For medical accidents, the medical party bears the main responsibility; on September 20, the Fujian Medical Association issued the "Medical Accident Technical Appraisal Certificate".
