As the coronavirus epidemic in France tends to lose its magnitude, Professor Didier Raoult, director of the IHU, decided to launch, with the support of the LR president of the Provence-Alpes Côte d'Azur region Renaud Muselier, a follow-up cell for patients who tested positive for Covid-19 and treated with hydroxychloroquine at the IHU.

According to a press release from the region, this cell should make it possible to "describe the clinical course of patients infected with Covid-19", "identify the factors predicting the occurrence of post-infection sequelae" and "analyze clinical data and biological of patients treated at the IHU ”. In addition to the resources mobilized by the Assistance Publique des Hôpitaux de Marseille and the IHU, the Provence-Alpes Côte d'Azur region is funding this project for 189,000 euros.
