The Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, which is based in Tokyo, ceased playing at the end of February, and by August, nearly 70 performances, which was nearly half of the year, were canceled or postponed, and 400 million including future losses. It means that the yen will be in the red.

As a result of searching for a way to reopen in a difficult business situation, we decided to collaborate with Suntory Hall in Akasaka, Tokyo, to perform a paid live distribution without an audience. Gathered for a rehearsal.

In this live distribution, in order to avoid "3 dense" on the stage, only the string instruments such as violin and cello named "Social Distance Ensemble" will be performed.

After enjoying the reunion, the orchestra members went up to the stage with their musical instruments in hand and confirmed whether they could perform without problems even if they secured a distance of 2 meters from the performers and conductors.

Cello player Tomoya Kikuchi said, “I was worried about what would happen before the rehearsal, but it seems like there will be no problems. In fact, the best thing I can do is a full orchestra, but as a musician, I can only play. I feel happy."
