The British street painter Banksy published a new artwork on the Internet yesterday depicting the American flag, and was caught by the fire from a candle that is part of a memorial to a black person similar to the memorial of the unknown soldier.

The artwork appeared as thousands of people gathered in London and other cities around the world to protest the death of George Floyd on May 25, in Minneapolis, after he was crouched on the neck of a white police officer who held him for nearly nine minutes.

"The white system has failed the colorers," wrote Banksy in a short comment attached to the photo on the Instagram website.

Banksy likened racism to a broken tube that sank an apartment in the basement. He said, "The residents of the basement will have the right to storm the apartment on the upper floor to fix the problem."

"This is a problem I made (eggs)," Banksy wrote to the side of the picture. And unless he (the eggs) fixes it, someone will have to climb the stairs and kick the door with his foot. ”

Banksy often chooses public issues that are widely raised, to be the subject of his artwork, which he takes from the street walls as an exhibition, and publishes it simultaneously on his account in "Instagram" to prove his intellectual ownership of it. The Banksy post was liked by more than 1.3 million people yesterday.

Anti-racist protests took place all over the world in response to the killing of George Floyd.
