  According to official measurements by the China Seismic Network, a magnitude 4.0 earthquake occurred at 9:49 on June 7 in the waters of Hualien County, Taiwan (24.12 degrees north latitude and 121.67 degrees east longitude), with a focal depth of 11 kilometers.

  After the earthquake, people in Xiamen and Quanzhou of Fujian Province felt the quake. Wu Yun, a citizen of Quanzhou, told the China News Service that because of the weekend holiday, he deliberately slept for a while and suddenly felt the bed shaking, which lasted more than ten seconds.

  Liu Jun, who lives near the Xiamen Software Park, also said that he lives on a higher floor and feels a significant shock. The doors and windows at home are shaking and making a noise.

  On the online platform, people also left messages "feeling shock". A netizen from Fujian said in a message, "One family on both sides of the strait wishes the Taiwan compatriots in the earthquake zone to be safe."
