On June 6, the Huangmaohai Cross-sea Channel Project officially started, and a new cross-sea channel was added to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The Huangmaohai Cross-sea Channel is another cross-sea channel project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area after the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the Shenzhen-China Channel. The project starts in Gaolan Port District of Zhuhai City, connects the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge in the east, connects the Xintai Expressway in the west and intersects with the coastal high-speed in the west, and ends in Doshan Town, Taishan City. The total length of the route is about 31 kilometers. It adopts a two-way 6-lane highway standard with a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour and a design life of 100 years.
