Nuria Oliver is one of the best experts in our country in artificial intelligence , a discipline that has a great impact on our lives, although we are not yet fully aware of it (See the special that El Mundo prepared on AI).
Telecommunications Engineer and Doctor from the Medialab of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Nuria was appointed, just as this crisis began, commissioner of the Valencian Community for artificial intelligence and Covid-19 .
We speak with Nuria about a massive survey (if you want to participate, click on this link) that has consumed almost every minute of confinement . A survey that is already in the eleventh wave ( more than 230,000 responses ) and that began in late March together with a multidisciplinary team of researchers.
The results will allow estimating the number of people infected with coronavirus, knowing the economic impact of this pandemic and understanding how we have felt during this unprecedented period of confinement.
Quality data to train artificial intelligence adequately and to facilitate public decision-making based on evidence and not on intuition: "If you train models with data that is not reliable, the conclusions will be wrong," he says.
