High school building lighted up in blue Thank you to the medical staff Hiroshima Akiotamachi June 6 4:58

In order to thank the medical staff at the forefront of the new coronavirus response, efforts were made to light up the school building in blue at a high school in Hiroshima prefecture on the night of the 5th.

It was lit up at the prefectural Kake High School in Akiota Town, Hiroshima Prefecture.

The idea was Mr. Yudai Morinaga, a third-year student, and on the 5th, about 30 students and faculty members who agreed with the project started preparing from 6 pm. The students were carrying lights with blue cellophane, and trying to connect a computer to the projector to see if they could project letters.

Then, when the lights were lit up all at once along with the music, the entire school building glowed blue, "Thank you for saving so many people", "Thanks to everyone for living safely", and "Ending Corona" Let's do our best for each other."

Locals also visited the high school, watching the lights and taking photos.

Efforts to light up buildings and to thank medical personnel began in London, and have spread to various places such as Osaka Castle and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

Morinaga said, "I wanted to convey that the high school students are also grateful. I would like to continue lighting up at other places in the town."
