[Commentary] At the end of 2017, at the graduation ceremony, Chen Zhuoxi, the principal of the Hong Kong Vocational Education School, severely dismissed the behavior of students who did not respect the national anthem. On June 4, the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region passed the National Anthem Bill for the third time, and Chen Zhuoxi felt even more special about it.

I think that the National Anthem Bill is read and passed in the Legislative Council today, which is a very special day. It is also very meaningful to pass the National Anthem Bill as a local law. I very much support it and feel very timely. No country has ever doubted this, nor has a country encouraged the nationals to insult or depreciate (own) the symbol of the country.
[Commentary] Chen Zhuoxi said that before the return of Hong Kong, he rarely had the opportunity to see the national flag and hear the national anthem in public.

Ordinary families and institutions have no guts to raise the five-star red flag. When I was very young, although there were no conditions at home, I made a flagpole using scrap materials and toys and drew a national flag to raise it, so that feeling was very different.
[Commentary] The predecessor of the Hong Kong Professional Training School was the "Mong Kok Workers Night School" established in 1957. It was the first private institution in Hong Kong to provide amateur industrial education. In 1987, the current name was officially changed. Chen Zhuoxi recalled that when Hong Kong returned to China in 1997, the scene of playing the national anthem for the first time in the school is still unforgettable.

At that time, if there was a link to the national anthem in the graduation ceremony, it would be the national anthem of another country. So at that moment when our Hong Kong Vocational Training School played its own national anthem for the first time, my mood was quite excited on stage.
[Explanation] How to cultivate the basic national awareness of Hong Kong young people, Chen Zhuoxi believes that the most important thing is to rely on flexible education methods. To strengthen the correct understanding of China among young people in Hong Kong, in addition to books, life experience and emotional recognition are equally important.
