Cinema: for lack of festival, a “Cannes” label awarded to around fifty films

After having long asserted that its 73rd edition would be held, after having tried to postpone it before, death in the soul, to cancel it, the Cannes festival has nevertheless revealed its selection. Director Pierre Lescure and the general delegate Thierry Frémaux made public on Wednesday evening on the stage of a George V desert cinema a list of 56 films constituting his "official selection". These 56 films will all be released in theaters, and will therefore be able to display on their poster the famous logo with its Palme d'Or.

The 2020 vintage of the Cannes festival will not take place, but everything is done so that its selection has the flavor of a real edition. The general delegate Thierry Frémaux did not specify which films could have been in competition or in special screenings but he pointed out that this unusual selection includes many first feature films, films made by women, and French films. .

A vintage for several reasons, therefore perfectly exceptional.
