The Lapee female mobile urinal was already installed at several festivals last summer. - Felix Adler

It is a small step for gender equality in public space. To relieve themselves between two pints of beer, men can already count on five mobile urinals installed at the weekend in downtown Rennes. But for the time being, there was nothing for the women, who had to queue, sometimes endless, to go to the toilet.

This will change with the installation this Thursday of a mobile female urinal on the Mitterrand mall. The Lapee, designed by two Danish architects, will be dropped off every Thursday afternoon and picked up on Saturday morning by city cleaners. It will be installed as a test until the end of summer on the email, specifies the city.

Among the inventions vying for the # ConcoursLépine, there is “Lapee”, a mobile and ecological urinal suitable for women.

Awarded at the Lépine competition last year, the female mobile urinal has already won over several festivals. According to the company Terréo which markets it, the mobile urinal, designed in the shape of a propeller and in candy pink color, "is hygienic since no contact is necessary for its use".
