"Rokudenashiko" Defendant Keeping fine or next month Supreme Court decision June 4 18:50

The Supreme Court decided to hand down a verdict next month in a case in which a cartoonist with the pen name "Rokudenashiko" was charged with distributing data that could reproduce the shape of a female genitals with a 3D printer. It seems likely that fine penalties will be maintained, as the necessary arguments will not be opened when reviewing the conclusions of the two trials.

Manga artist Megumi Igarashi (48), who works under the pen name of "Rokudenashiko," traced the crime of "dissemination of obscene things," etc. for distributing data that could reproduce the shape of female genitals with a 3D printer. He was charged with exhibiting his work in an adult shop, and acquitted in court as "part of an artistic activity."

The Tokyo High Court in the second trial found that the work exhibited was "not likely to be sexually stimulated by the work" and was acquitted following the first trial, and the prosecutor's office did not appeal and confirmed it.

On the other hand, regarding the crime of distributing 3D printer data, the defendant filed a fine of 400,000 yen after the first trial, saying that "the data is three-dimensional visual information of female genital organs, and the artistry cannot be read." was doing.

On this, the Supreme Court's 1st small court decided to hand down the judgment on the 16th of next month.

It seems likely that fine penalties will be maintained, as the necessary arguments will not be opened when reviewing the conclusions of the two trials.
