Until page 300, By the way  obeys the rolling fire of gags which is the trademark of its author: anecdotes, good stories, memories of filming, without forgetting his adventures with actresses all more attractive than the first others, from Louise Lasser to Diane Keaton.

And then comes the terrible accusation. Woody Allen precedes her with the story of her story with Soon-Yi. Or how the adopted daughter of Mia Farrow, her ex-partner, became "  the enchantment of her life  ".

The story is well known: Soon-Yi was 22, Woody Allen, 57, and the scandal made the cover of all the tabloids. Woody Allen, who never wanted to speak about his private life, tells all this with the precision of a verbatim, until the fateful date of August 4, 1992 when he was accused of sexual touching on Dylan, the daughter of Mia Farrow , then 7 years old.

These memoirs are a pro domo plea, in which the filmmaker delivers his version of the facts, whether he talks about his lawsuit with Amazon or these American actors who now refuse to film with him.

Started with sparkling humor and chased the author of A nnie Hall , By the way ends in anger and bitterness, as if no light was no longer here, redeem the writing of the disaster.
