The Beijing News reporter today (June 2) confirmed from the Henan High Court that Wu Chunhong had submitted a state compensation application to the Henan High Court this afternoon, and submitted a total of more than 18.72 million yuan in state compensation applications.
The Beijing News previously reported that on November 15, 2004, two sons defeated by Wang Wang, an electrician in Zhougang Village, Minquan County, Henan Province, had been poisoned, and his 3-year-old son Wang Cheng (pseudonym) died after rescue. Seven days later, Wu Chunhong was identified as a suspect in this case. Since then, the Shangqiu Intermediate People's Court has sentenced Wu Chunhong to three death sentences and one sentence to life imprisonment. Wu Chunhong and his family continued to complain. On April 1 this year, Wu Chunhong was acquitted.
The Beijing News reporter combed the Henan High Court's retrial criminal judgment and found that in this case, except for Wu Chunhong's guilty statement at the investigation stage, there was no other evidence to prove that Wu Chunhong entered the kitchen and committed poisoning.
The Beijing News reporter learned from Wu Chunli, Wu Chunhong’s daughter, that on June 2, her father, accompanied by an attorney, went to Henan High Court to submit a national compensation application.
According to the application form for national compensation provided by the lawyer, Wu Chunhong requested the compensation obligation agency to pay him personal freedom compensation of 9728071.25 yuan; requested the compensation obligation agency to pay him a mental loss compensation of 5 million yuan; and requested the compensation obligation agency to pay him Loss of work and compensation fees of 2 million yuan; requesting the obligatory agency to pay the relevant medical expenses of 2 million yuan; requesting the compulsory agency to pay it the disability compensation (the specific amount will be calculated after the disability level is evaluated), temporarily total 18728071.25 yuan.
Regarding the above compensation application, Wu Chunhong’s attorney explained to the Beijing News that the daily average wage requirement is not sufficient to make up for Wu Chunhong’s loss, so he requested “compensation” for compensation for lost work according to Article 34, paragraph 2, of the National Compensation Law "Loss of liberty is also an extreme form of lost time. Lifting weight is light and light. Damage to health can lead to 5 times compensation for lost time."
