Xinhua News Agency, Kunming, June 1st (Reporter Zhao Juran) According to the Information Office of the Government of Dushan and Nu Autonomous County, Gongshan County, Yunnan Province, Gongshan County has recently suffered from the largest continuous rainstorm weather process with meteorological records, and many debris flows and landslides have occurred. Due to natural disasters, 2 people were killed and 6 people were missing. At present, communications and external traffic have been restored in Gongshan County, and tourists stranded in other places have embarked on their return journeys.

  As of 18:00 on June 1, 2 people were killed, 6 missing and 2 injured in Gongshan County due to the disaster. More than 9,200 people were affected by the disaster and 2,784 people were resettled in an emergency. A total of 427 tourists are currently stranded in Gongshan County, including 368 in Dulongjiang Township, and they have all been properly resettled. A total of 765 foreign tourists have safely embarked on their return journey. The road traffic, communications, and power in the county were severely damaged.

  After the disaster, the local party committee, government, and cadres and the masses carried out rescue and relief efforts. Up to now, the communication between the core areas of the local townships has been restored. The destroyed road from Liuku to Gongshan County on National Highway 219 has been rushed through. The traffic from Gongshan County to Deqin County in Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is still interrupted. The damage to the Dulongjiang Highway from Dulongjiang Township to the outside world is still severely interrupted, and a total of 58.8 kilometers have been rushed through. The rescue work is still in progress.
