At JR Shibuya Station, the relocation work of the Saikyo Line home was completed, and from the 1st day, the use of the new home side by side with the Yamanote Line home began.
Since the Saikyo Line platform at JR Shibuya Station was far from the Yamanote Line and it took a long time to change trains, construction work has been underway to move the platform about 350 meters northward to bring it closer to the Yamanote Line.
The construction was completed in the early morning of the day, and the use of the Yamanote Line home and a new side-by-side home started immediately from the first train.
In the new platform, the transfer to the Yamanote Line has become smoother, and the Hachiko ticket gate at the main gate of Shibuya Station is directly connected, which shows a new flow of people due to commuters.
A woman, an office worker, said, "I was so far away that I thought it would be another station, so I'm glad it's very convenient."
JR East is planning to expand the Yamanote Line platform at Shibuya Station in the future, and will continue to improve convenience.
