A growing number of record labels and artists have promised to take part in what is known as "Black out Tuesday," including Columbia Records, whose CEO Ron Perry writes: "We feel solidarity with all blacks against all forms of racism, narrow-mindedness and violence. Now more than ever, we have to use our voices to speak out and confront the injustices that are everywhere. ”

The major companies Universal Music Group, Warner Music and Sony Music, the concert organizer Live Nation and headphone manufacturer Beats by Dre are some of the other players in the industry participating in the event.
